The HT50 Dual Pac Internal Battery System includes a primary lead acid battery and a secondary internal NiMH (nickel metal hydride) battery that charges simultaneously. This unique dual battery system ensures that the user always has a minimum of 30 minutes of operation after the Battery Low alarm sounds. This will allow adequate notice to locate an alternate power source to provide uninterrupted ventilation.

its rugged construction, easy trigger sensitivity, and fast re-charge
from AC or external DC, the HT50 Ventilator is ideally suited for transport, hospital and homecare and emergency response applications.

Applications
Non-invasive Ventilation
1. Interface (Mask/Mouthpiece) Selection
 |
Focus on comfort and effectiveness usually a smaller mask is easier to manage. |
|
Start with mouthpiece if the patient has trouble tolerating the mask. |
|
Gradually move to the interface that balances comfort and effectiveness of ventilation. |
|
Use only non-vented masks (no holes or valves of any kind) |
2. Patient Preparation/Considerations
|
Make sure the patient understands what you plan to do. |

Secure the mask to the patient's face, avoiding too tight of a fit. |
3. Initial Set-Up

Non-Invasive Ventilation Tips for HT50
|
Any mode and breath type can be used for noninvasive ventilation. Using the HT50, rather than a bilevel pressure device, for NIV means you are not limited to pressure ventilation. |
|
Keep breathing circuit deadspace minimized to reduce carbon dioxide rebreathing. |
|
Choose breathing circuits carefully. Many disposable breathing circuits/exhalation valves will not allow the HT50 to function as designed. |
|
